We are in the midst of a whirlwind of change and uncertainty, requiring each of us to reach deep into our emotional, social and mental reserves to make in-the-moment adjustments, creatively problem-solve, and wholeheartedly embrace that the only constant is change. We all have had to manage our own emotions in order to provide calm guidance and support in our personal and professional roles.

At this point our entire staff is working from home. Like you, we are using Google Hangouts, Zoom, and other platforms to communicate. In addition, many of us with school-aged children have shifted into homeschooling mode and have certainly deepened our appreciation for all that you do as classroom teachers and school administrators!
One of the hallmarks of the Open Circle approach is the focus on the power of relationships as a lever for effective SEL. Although we have to maintain physical distance to ensure safety and health, we can still be social beings and reach out in virtual ways to maintain those social bonds. We know that each of you is leaning on the foundation of relationships you’ve created to provide the remote educational support that students and families need. We are working diligently to adapt and create resources to support your continued work with students. You’ll be hearing more from us in the coming days and weeks as we prepare these resources for you.
